15" Altec 604-8G Studio Monitor Speaker - electronics - by owner - sale

(This is a used speaker that was purchased new directly from Altec as we were an Altec professonal dealer. We only have one. The cone is shiny as it has been coated first with a saturating plastic resin that pentrates the cone, followed by an accustical epoxy to make the cone stronger and rigid, The bass is much stronger than the with the original untreated cone. This is not the first woofer we have treated in this fashion. Though not bullet proof the cone is incredibly tough and the sound compared to the original is vastly improved. This does not include the cabinet which is for dual 15" speakers. The bottom half is also used for the 604 as it is connect by a 2" tuned pipe down the back, because the 604 line requires a larg bass reflex cabinet.

That thing has been on ebay for a long time. I bet it would sell if they had a pair. It would suck to try and duplicate the coating
